{"id":1402,"date":"2015-05-04T03:00:37","date_gmt":"2015-05-04T07:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/gregorian-chant-the-eternal-song-47\/"},"modified":"2015-05-04T03:00:37","modified_gmt":"2015-05-04T07:00:37","slug":"gregorian-chant-the-eternal-song-47","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/gregorian-chant-the-eternal-song-47\/","title":{"rendered":"Gregorian Chant: The Eternal Song"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Sr. Fidelis<\/p>\n<p><em>Revelations &#8211; Easter 5<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Each week of Paschaltide, Jesus has been giving us keys to the way he reveals himself to us.<\/p>\n<p>The last several weeks, we&#8217;ve seen the word\u00a0<em>cognoscere<\/em>\u00a0 (<strong>to know) <\/strong>in the Communion antiphons, implying that this is an active &#8220;knowing&#8221; that we work at in our relationship with him.\u00a0 He is &#8220;known&#8221; to us in the breaking of bread, and in his role as Good Shepherd.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s Communion antiphon starts with the same tune and words as last week&#8217;s; <em>Ego sum &#8211; <\/em><strong>I AM<\/strong>.\u00a0 We see these words and remember that when God was revealed to Moses in the burning bush, he used these very words to identify himself. &#8220;I AM has sent me to you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>I AM the true vine and you are the branches.\u00a0 Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.\u00a0 <\/em>This is a staggering statement.\u00a0 All of life itself comes to the branches from the vine, if the branches are truly attached to the Source.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4833373\" src=\"http:\/\/of.communityofjesus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/grape-wallpapers-background-61-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"The Community of Jesus\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheCommunityOfJesus\/~4\/p9_FL8MwuE0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sr. Fidelis Revelations &#8211; Easter 5 Each week of Paschaltide, Jesus has been giving us keys to the way he reveals himself to us.
