{"id":1640,"date":"2016-01-03T19:23:20","date_gmt":"2016-01-04T00:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/making-room\/"},"modified":"2016-01-03T19:23:20","modified_gmt":"2016-01-04T00:23:20","slug":"making-room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/making-room\/","title":{"rendered":"Making Room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.communityofjesus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/0103161903.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5625866\" src=\"http:\/\/www.communityofjesus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/0103161903-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"0103161903\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>We received a beautiful Christmas card with a picture of Mary &amp; Joseph, and the shepherds huddled in light\u00a0 around Baby Jesus and the words, &#8220;Let every heart prepare Him room.&#8221; I put it up on our bathroom mirror to remind me as I dry my hair to &#8220;prepare Him room.&#8221;\u00a0 But how do I do that?\u00a0I feel so small in the pains and inadequacies of my puny life as I scurry from thing to thing to make space for Christ the King.\u00a0As I wash my face at the end of the day, and look at the beauty and simplicity of that card, I once again feel convicted from the words, &#8220;Let every heart prepare Him room.&#8221;\u00a0 I say, &#8220;Ok, I want to get there. I do, but all I have to offer is sin and the pain that comes with it. I&#8217;m sorry. Help me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A peace comes on me as I realize that not one person in this Nativity scene came to &#8220;prepare Him room&#8221; without pain, without sacrifice, but with so much blessing.
