Although we may be more removed from some of the riots\u00a0occurring in the large American cities, Cape Cod has its own threat of destruction.<\/p>\n<p>This made me think of one of my favorite frescoes in our Church \u2013 Moses and the parting of the Red Sea.\u00a0Moses looks pretty small standing between the gigantic waves on either side. The bottom of the waves\u00a0where he is standing are almost black in color\u2026..and yet he has both arms up stretching to God. His face\u00a0is turned upward toward the large beautiful light in the blue sky beyond.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if Moses felt like he was tightrope walking, similar to the man going over Niagara Falls \u2013 if a lot\u00a0of his energy had to go into keeping his arms uplifted \u2013 what if he looked down even for a second\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>As a young person one of my favorite hymns was<em> How firm a Foundation<\/em>: \u201dWhen through the\u00a0deep waters I call thee to go, the rivers of woe shall not thee overflow; I\u2019ll strengthen thee, help thee,\u00a0and cause thee to stand, upheld by my righteous omnipotent hand.\u201d (based on Isaiah 43:2)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.communityofjesus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/CapeCod.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5626146\" src=\"http:\/\/www.communityofjesus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/CapeCod-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"CapeCod\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow us<\/strong><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/communityofjesus.org\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/communityofjesus.org<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheCommunityOfJesus\/~4\/vuGZVStklKM\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sunset Septuagint As I was thanking God for his miraculous protection after Winter Storm Jonas, I realized once again that we sit on a fragile piece of land.
