{"id":1658,"date":"2016-02-19T09:19:44","date_gmt":"2016-02-19T14:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/reconciliation\/"},"modified":"2018-08-20T11:56:07","modified_gmt":"2018-08-20T15:56:07","slug":"reconciliation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/reconciliation\/","title":{"rendered":"Reconciliation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am blessed to be working on an international Symposium on Ecumenism and the Arts occurring in 2017, the 500th anniversary of Luther\u2019s Reformation, in four countries and six different cities. I have been asking the Lord to give me the vision of the significance of this event in our time.<\/p>\n<p>The world situation is certainly more dangerous than at any other time in my lifetime, and maybe ever, with the capability of a nuclear holocaust.\u00a0And yet, we have recently had a reconciliation brought about after 1,000 years \u2013 that of the encounter between Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church. \u201cFinally! We are brothers,\u201d the Pope exclaimed.\u00a0Seemingly, this meeting took place because of the persecution of Christians worldwide.
