{"id":1809,"date":"2016-05-20T17:07:38","date_gmt":"2016-05-20T21:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/the-net-will-not-break\/"},"modified":"2016-05-20T17:07:38","modified_gmt":"2016-05-20T21:07:38","slug":"the-net-will-not-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.paracletepress.com\/index.php\/the-net-will-not-break\/","title":{"rendered":"The Net Will Not Break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>During a very busy weekend , the \u00a0phrase \u201cthe net did not break\u201d jumped out at me from Sunday\u2019s Gospel reading. <\/span><i><span>. \u00a0\u00a0[John 21:11] <\/span><\/i><span>It\u2019s a familiar story, although I had never noticed this phrase before. \u00a0Jesus appeared to Peter after the Resurrection, when he was fishing and not catching anything, and Jesus told him to try again. \u00a0This time, there were more fish than the disciples could handle, but <\/span><i><span>the net did not break.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span>I find this very encouraging. \u00a0Fishing is hard work. \u00a0And when God is doing big things, it can also be hard work.
