Barbara Mahaney said: &#8220;Consider this a short course for the soul. Tucked amid the poets&#8217; roster, we find Rainer Maria Rilke, considered one of the most lyrically intense German-language poets, in new and previous translations by Burrows.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll wear out the pages and the binding before you&#8217;re ever ready to put down this book.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paracletepress.com\/Products\/7640\/charles-of-the-desert.aspx\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paracletepress.com\/Content\/Site186\/ProductImages\/7640\/265\/Charles-of-the-Desert.jpg\" alt=\"Charles of the Desert\" width=\"175\" \/><\/a>We also had a wonderful mention on &#8220;The Millions&#8221; for\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paracletepress.com\/Products\/7640\/charles-of-the-desert.aspx\">Charles of the Desert: A Life in Verse<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.themillions.com\/2016\/12\/year-reading-nick-ripatrazone.html\">Nick Ripatrizone&#8217;s Year in Reading<\/a>. &#8220;Each year I read more books than I can possibly review \u2014 here are. . . the finest and most memorable of that bunch.
