May 24 Echoes of Eternity
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:30
Many, many times My Spirit is grieved at the waywardness of your mind. How easily you are distracted from My goals and My aims for you, in pursuit of your own. Your heart so often is hardened against the gentle leading of the Spirit—and He grieves over you as a mother over a wayward and disobedient child. There is no peace—no heart peace—for you in that condition. Inner stress and tension are
its fruits.
There is a better way. Where you begin to feel this stress, turn and apologize—yes, I said “apologize”—to your Divine Companion for your rudeness and self-centeredness,—and ask Him to reveal to you the place or places where you have ignored and refused His help. He is your Helper and Defender. He knows the way—you do not. Listen to Him, for He is given to My children to lead them in the right path—home.
