October 7 Echoes of Eternity
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head.
Mark 14:3
My dear child, do not forget that I love you. Do not heedlessly trample on My love by doubting it or forgetting it. My love is a purifier of motives, the inner hidden workings of the heart. It does cleanse and burn and consume the lower passions of your nature when you keep it as a peculiar treasure and gift. Everything that I ask of you and everything that I allow to come into your life is rooted in My divine love. You cannot measure or understand or comprehend My love—but you can accept it in a way you never have. The woman in the Gospel reading had accepted My love. Simon had not. Where is the alabaster box of ointment in your life? Break it, My child, and be amply blessed.
